Episode 15 – Week of Undine Waking, 2019

Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge, and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Undine Waking, 2019.

Early spring brings wild weather with the change of the seasons, and next week’s forecast is right on the money.  Expect wind and overcast skies leading into snow on the second and third day, all of which will be melted by the end of the fourth and ready to freeze overnight.  The Sylph-casters say to expect light breezes and partly cloudy skies for the rest of the week.

As was expected, we have a group from the Shrine Watchers’ League here in the valley. With the full moon next week, please be respectful of our guests as they do whatever they will do to try to determine the location of the Shrine of Magic.

The Shrine Watchers are not the only unusual guests for the valley: Easpar of Cordelia has returned, along with an official ambassador from our neighbors to the distant northwest. Easpar  has already seen the Ground Council and I’m told a Shade-sending to the capitol was arranged to request an appropriate representative to meet the unexpected ambassador. As both arrived yesterday, a response will likely come in today.

The third set of significant visitors to the valley this week were expected: Ivali Earthchamp and Arl Dream-shaped, Champions of Gnome and Shade respectively. They’ve met up with Revna to welcome their new sister, and they and her group will be traveling to towns and villages around the valley to set up Anchorstones. The group intends to make use of raptors to catch up to and outrun those already on Anchrostone Walks, so that those walking can maximize their trips.

For those asking about the dracog puppies, I’m told that all are in good health and growing quickly.  The latest message from the village of Northpond indicates that the puppies will be available to visitors towards the end of Aura Waxing.  I’ll likely make the trip myself at the beginning of Aura Shining, I’ll be taking along a recording orb to acquire images to share.

For those preparing to travel out of the region, or into it if you’re somehow able to hear this broadcast, the direction signposts mentioned several weeks ago and finally beginning to be set up around the region. Based on the carts rolling out of town, most signs are sharply-carved wood, but there are a number of teams containing gnome-casters known to be particularly skilled in stone work.

In the last bit of news this week, ground has officially been broken at both Ocean’s Watch and Petrosk’s future locations, with the foundations of key government buildings being roughed out.  Hopefully, there’s a few historians, or at least history-minded folks, out there with recording orbs catching these moments.

The Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor are brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and otherworldly tea. Red Wombat: We Dig Tea.
