Episode 22 – Week of Aura Shining, 2019

Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Aura Shining, 2019.

For those unaware, multiple tornadoes touched down in and around Eastfjord Harbor the afternoon of the seventh day of Aura Waxing, part of the severe thunder and hail storms that rocked much of the valley that day.  The building containing the broadcast studio was significantly damaged and I had to wait until the third day to get into the studio and until the sixth to finish repairing the transmitter – it wasn’t several damaged, but there were a lot of small pieces that need repairs or replacing, and then a lot of tuning.

A few deaths have been reported across the valley as the result of the storm and a full list is being distributed to town halls, inns, and taverns – in many cases by repair crews.

Unsurprisingly, this turn of events means I have not made it out to see dracog puppies, but I’m told all are well, a number have been adopted, and Irzuka Sharesjoy has been contacted by a dracog breeder from the northern edge of the kingdom about establishing a business relationship. This is good news for me as I’m not likely to make it out to see the puppies soon.

The weather has affected more than my plans: elections of the new Eastfjord Harbor Town Council have been delayed until fifth and sixth days next week as polling locations were closed for safety reasons. Hopefully, we’ll have results in time for the show. I know a lot of votes are expected and that counting all of them will be slow.

The challenge in getting things done next week is that the forecast calls for all day thunderstorms the second and third days, some of which may be nearly as intense as the one that rocked us last week. Please stay safe out there!

A few people have asked about the last ritual performed by the Shrinewatchers’ League the week of Aura Resting. My apologies for not keeping you updated on that, there were larger things to report on.

The Shrinewatchers report that not only did the local group receive unusually clear signals, so did many others around the world. They are more certain than ever that the Shrine of Magic is going to return to this world soon and they are reviewing a series of rituals to narrow down potential locations.  Given that the next full moon is the end of next week, expect to see them then.

Last in news this week, the Bakers’ Guilds have confirmed that the festival planned for Summer Blazing is still on, and people should register as soon as possible.

The Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor are brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and otherworldly teas. Red Wombat: We Dig Tea.

Also brought to you by the Dockworkers’ Union – our next big meeting is the seventh day of Aura Waning. New members always welcome.

These have been the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Aura Shining, 2019. Take care, and stay dry.
