Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge, and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Aura Fading, 2019.
As spring comes to an end, so too have the elections for the Eastfjord Harbor Town Council. Three previous members of the council chose to decline positions on the Grand Council and were successfully re-elected to their positions, leaving three positions open on that council that will be filled by election shortly. In the meantime, fourteen new members representing various districts, the trade guilds, the workers guilds, and similar now begin the process of transitioning to the new work and separating the duties of the town council from that of the Grand Council.
The Grand Council’s first call to its dedicated duties is probably coming faster than they anticipated: The Shrinewatchers’ League is very certain that the Shrine of Magic will return somewhere within the Pinecrest Valley region. More rites will need to be performed to narrow down where and when, which means finding places these rites can be performed and making arrangements with appropriate people to allow them; a task made more challenging as not everyone town or village has a council set up yet.
The existing members of the Shrinewatchers’ League already in the valley will be exploring the valley for the next few weeks to find ideal locations for performing their rituals. Expecting to be traveling in groups of twos and threes.
Both Feralix tribes report small adventuring groups have taken on the jobs of evaluating a number of ancient vomba towns for rehabilitation and rehabitation. Though the call for interested groups went out several weeks ago, the specific skillset requested is not one commonly found among adventures and it took a bit for qualified groups to assemble and/or arrive. With the population of the valley growing steadily, the additional space without the need for full-on construction would be much appreciated.
Next week is an ideal week for construction for those waiting on it. No rain is expected, though it will be fairly warm in the middle of the week.
The clear, dry weather is of particular benefit to both messenger guilds, as they’ve been particularly busy in the past week with no signs of slowing. Soon I may be able to say all three, and possibly even four, messenger guilds, as a number of people who went on the Anchorstone Walk appear to be trying to form a guild for those with the ability to send messages through Anchorstones, and the royal messengers have taken note.
Last in the news this week, you have until the third day to sign up for the challenges and contests in the Bakers’ Festival.. At least, for those challenges and contests with spots still open. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m hungry now.
