Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge, and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Sylph Fading, 2019.
The Anchorstone-forging champion trio should be back early this evening, probably about the time the temperature begins to drop to make a thin layer of overnight snow possible on the western end of the valley. Expect it to be cold and breezy this week, which is why I’m making a hearty chili for dinner for the first day.
The White and Black Mountain Feralix clans report they will be taking applicants to move into the recovered Vomba mining towns through the end of this week, but applicants should be aware that they already have more than enough potential residents.
Farms and villages on the east end of Pinecrest report dramatically increased houndling activity – in the form of trading parties. Houndlings, always traveling in groups of at least twenty, are foraying out from Valleywatch Keep, greeting members of Deep Delve, the East Valley Trekkers, and various guards as they move carts of goods towards villages, towns, and farm clusters in search of trade.
The houndlings have also sent a small group to a Messenger Guild outpost near them, which is definitely new. As a messenger did not immediately depart the outpost, we can’t say where their message was going, only that they felt it could travel with routine messages. A lot of people are curious to see what comes of this, and I’m very much among them.
If you think you’re seeing an unfamiliar skiff at the docks this morning, you’re not wrong. Word from our northwest is that the northern harbors are facing not only colder weather than we are, but it is also more consistent. As a result, light ice is forming far earlier than usual. While an autumnal heatwave could strike at any time, no one is taking chances. Negotiators are arriving on behalf of merchants to make arrangements for berths, warehouse space, and transportation. Expect job postings in inns, bars, and taverns soon.
Last in the news this week, administrative preparations are well underway for the Year’s Turning celebration at Petrosk and Wickerby Pond. I’m told that hiring of construction and cleanup crews will likely begin in a week, and applications for stall space will also become available around the same time. I guess I know what I’m talking about next week!
The Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor are brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and otherworldly tea. Red Wombat: We Dig Tea.
Also brought to you by Reynard’s Raptors – we’re hiring help to move our stock to winter pastures, and to staff those pastures. Visit any current location for job details!
These have been the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Sylph Fading, 2019. Take care, and mind the breeze..
I’ve noticed the closing credits music always cuts off several seconds in. If it’s a deliberate design choice to delineate between Branwyn Two-Moon and Jesse Stringer, that’s fine, but the abrupt cut-off is very jarring. I suggest letting it play for a bit longer (compare to the opening credits length), and/or gradually fade it out to give it a satisfying end before you go OOC.

It was partially intentional, but it did eventually get to me as well. I’m going to be changing up the music for year two and that will be addressed. I decided to focus on consistency for year one.
