Episode 45 – Week of Shade Waking, 2019

(Author’s note: Apparently, I was out of it when I scheduled this to post and scheduled it for the wrong weekend.  Enjoy two episodes this weekend!)

Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Shade Waking, 2019.

Sylph-casters are calling for light snow all week in the mountains. The catch to that is that by the end of the week, sleds and sleighs will be the preferred method of cargo transport through the passes – or wagons that can be converted to skids instead of wheels. The rim and valley can expect ice and freezing fog in the mornings, while those around Valleywatch Keep will likely find it slightly warmer.  Slightly.

The Pinecrest Clerks serving as the temporary administrators of Petrosk report that small town’s inns are already sold out for Year’s Turning, but there are plenty of camp sites still available. In related news, the Pinecrest Grand Council would like to remind everyone that camping in unapproved areas will be monitored – please don’t make the guards working that night work more than they have to.

The Dawnshear guild has been called upon by the White Mountain Clan of Feralix to put their training in dealing with aggressive houndlings to work. Apparently, their herds are being raided by a different group of houndlings in the mountains.  Whether we can expect talking or fighting remains to be seen.

The East Valley Trekkers report their initial introductions with the houndlings around Valleywatch Keep have gone quite well. Furthermore, they have sent word that the Pinecrest Council should be expecting written communication next week. I guess we now know why they visited a Messenger Guild outpost.

Last in the news this week, the various dockworkers’ guilds are indeed preparing to hire starting at the end of next week. Look for flyers from the Association of Dockworkers’ Guilds in inns and taverns around Eastfjord Harbor.  And for those not in the province’s capital, a separate set of flyers is being dispatched as far east as Petrosk.

The Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor are brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and otherworldly teas. Red Wombat: We Dig Tea.

Also brought to you by the Winter Wonderland Quartet: We’re starting our year-end tour in Ocean’s Watch and if you can’t catch us in Petrosk for Year’s Turning, fear not – we’ll be visiting most of region before then, with our final concert happening in Eastfjord Harbor during Gnome Waking.

These have been the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Shade Waking, 2019. Take care, and mind the breeze.
