Episode 48 – Week of Shade Fading, 2019

Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Shade Fading, 2019.

Wickerby Pond won’t require magical assistance to freeze this year.  Between the cold temperatures for the last week and the ones coming, the pond will be fully capable of supporting ice skaters safely.

Ice fishers are asked to wait until after Year’s Turning to fish to preserve the integrity of the ice.

A lot of people define integrity as doing what’s right, even if no one is looking.  I’m of the opinion that extends to even if no one will know or no one has asked. This week’s broadcast is late because I realized I could help with something and chose to do so.

The houndlings of Valleywatch Keep agreed to send a contingent to help Dawnshear with the houndlings of the White Mountains.  Counter to my previous report that their travel would take weeks, it took minutes – because I gated them in. With a little luck, we can get everyone calm and home for Year’s Turning.

Preparations for Year’s Turning festivities are well underway, and campsites are being prepped around Petrosk. Roads between the tunnels, cliffs, and other nearby towns are being refreshed and re-marked for clear navigation.  Even the docks on the pond have been altered to support any ice sleds that might come across.

The messenger guilds are running full tilt delivering party invitations and responses, and I don’t even have to look outside to know this because so many of them keep coming to my doors.

Yes, both the studio and my home.

In case anyone else is planning on sending an invite, please be aware that my schedule is full through early next year – my name is Two-Moon for a reason.

And that was probably the wrong thing to say… so I apologize to the messenger guilds for any additional work they’re about to undertake as a result.

The Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor are brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and otherworldly teas. Red Wombat: We Dig Tea.

Also brought to you by the Royal Messengers’ Guild – we’re looking for people to take up routes into the neighboring provinces.  Please apply at any of our outposts.

These have been the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Shade Fading, 2019. Take care, and mind the breeze.
