Episode 51 – Week of Gnome Resting, 2020

Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Gnome Resting, 2020.

Welcome to the new year.

The forecast for next week calls for cold and windy, but dry, with a small chance of snow at particularly high elevations.  Bundle up folks!

Cleanup crews are wrapping up the last of their efforts around Petrosk so that Gnome and Dryad-casters can come in to restore the area.  No major damage was done to anyone or any property, though a few people clearly had a bit too much to drink.

Kurst Ice-Forged and company have checked in. It seems that a group is using a variety of magics to manipulate local wildlife into attacking things they’d normally leave alone. They should be dealt with later this week.

The last overland caravans of immigrants before winter truly settles are due no later than the end of Gnome Dusting and crews of Gnome and Salamando-casters are monitoring the road conditions while the Pinecrest Guard keep an eye out for other threats.

If you think the dockworkers’s guilds in Eastfjord Harbor have been hiring hard for the winter, don’t look at the boards unless you’re looking for something new.  Trading crews focused on moving goods around the region are popping up and they’re looking for everything from handymen to guards to caravan leaders.

In related news, reports of trade crews and merchants contacting various town and village councils to arrange the construction of warehouses and improve distribution are also coming in.  In a surprise to no one, Petrosk is a popular choice, but so are locations between the mountains and the rim, on both sides. Even a few of the smallest villages to the east have been contacted.

The Black Mountain Clan would like our listeners to know that they are actively tracking every adult virl, as well as a few unusually independent juveniles, in their area to do their part in preventing a recurrence of last year’s tragic events. A few Wisp and-Shade casters have been called to signal for backup should the need arise.

Carpenters, masons, weavers, clothiers, and the like can expect an uptick in business leading up to the arrival of the king and queen later this year. I personally recommend that if you expect to need their services before then, get your orders in now.

And no, that’s not just limited to Eastfjord Harbor itself.

The Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor are brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and otherworldly tea. Red Wombat: We Dig Tea.

Also brought to you by…

Wait, really? They know about aethercasts?!

Also brought to you by the Gray Crevasse houndling tribe, who look forward to working with those will live beneath the Black Mountains.

These have been the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Gnome Resting, 2020. Take care, and stay warm.
