Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week Dryad Waking, 2020.
Let’s start with the weather: there’s no new snow in the forecast next week. While there is light, there is no real warmth, so expect the mounds of snow to stick around, and for there to be a good chance of ice to form in late evenings and not clear until the sun is well up.
Deep Delve, The East Valley Trekkers, and the farmers of the villages around Valleywatch Keep report an increase in houndlings looking to trade, but not so much for goods, as for skills… in cleaning.
Your guess is as good as mine.
The town of Ocean’s Watch reports steady contact with villages and towns to the north of the valley, sparing messengers the long walk around to the east or the potentially treacherous roads along the northern valley wall. The messenger guild worked with local carpenters and other crafters to develop a pulley system for moving bins of messages up and down between an outpost south of the new town on the valley’s rim and Eastfjord Harbor below. The success of the endeavor has resulted in an official request from their royal majesties to the Pinecrest Council: in the interests of preserving life and limb, locate a place along the southern rim of the valley to establish a village and a messenger outpost. As the White Mountains run to the very sea itself, such a location will be a bit east of Eastfjord Harbor. Groups interested in pursuing this work should contact the Pinecrest Council.
No small number of listeners have asked for updates on those headed to Irized to assist with fire relief efforts. At this time, we know that the flotilla of vessels carrying volunteers left for Irized on time. They should be arriving in Irized in the next day or three. Arrangements have been made with the Shrinewatchers’ League to notify their members of Shine of Wind as soon as vessels arrive and can pass along any news. In turn, Sylph and Wisp have reached an arrangement with the end result of signaling me to come to the Shrine of Magic.
Given the time differences between here and there, I fully expect to have a very long night in the very near future.
