Episode 59 – Week of Dryad Waning, 2020

Hello, I’m Branwyn Two-Moon of Clan Lightridge and these are the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Dryad Waning, 2020.

My apologies for missing last week’s aethercast. I was sick and Kurst Ice-Forged was unavailable. I will be working with the Pinecrest and Eastfjord Harbor councils to identify persons able to help with the aethercast in the future should I be ill or absent.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather, because the Sylph-casters are calling for snow starting late on the third day and continuing through early on the fifth. Insulated, waterproof footwear is encouraged for those that wear footwear.

If you think various city and region officials and functionaries seem oddly busy, you are not wrong. Preparations for the king and queen’s visit are already underway, and some elements need to be settled well in advance. A group of royal guards is already on the way to begin working on security elements for the visit.

If you’re in part of Pinecrest where royalty is not planning a visit and you want to see them, now is the time to start reaching out to find places to stay.  Inns, hostels, taverns, and similar report inquiries and reservations are already being made. At least one inn informed me they are sold out for the duration of the visit.

Various trade caravans are looking for help of all forms as they work to get appropriate goods for various business’s needs related to the royal visit into the city, so if you’re willing to be a guard, cart driver, or whatever a caravan needs, check with the merchant houses and guilds.

Local shops are also looking for a wide variety of help at all points along the planned visit, so if you’re interested in potentially short-term work, or short-term work that may lead to bigger opportunities, I suggest you check with your local shopkeepers.

Last in the news this week, relief efforts on Irized are going well.  While weather patterns cannot be changed without significant harm, Sylph and Undine-casters are able to provide much-needed moisture to many areas, enabling Gnome-casters, Dryad-casters, and farmers to work.  Even Salamando-casters have been of great help in abating heat in places.

The Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor are brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and otherworldly tea. Red Wombat: We Dig Tea.

Also brought to by Lord and Lady Edrajii, who are looking to hire builders and carpenters for two projects. Please visit The Silver Cask tavern and ask to speak to Ambernay of Edrajii for more details.

These have been the Ersatz Echoes of Eastfjord Harbor for the week of Dryad Waning, 2020. Take care, and stay warm.
